Adopt-A-Beach surveys Nahant sands

NAHANT-The Adopt-A-Beach program in town got underway at Tudor Beach on Sunday afternoon.Northeastern University Marien Science Center and Salem Sound Coastwatch (SSCW) are coordinating the program in Nahant.Sunday’s session was an initial survey of the beach. Barbara Warren from Salem Sound Coastwatch led volunteers through the survey process, which recorded various conditions at the beach.The Adopt-A-Beach program is a long-term monitoring and stewardship program comprised of teams.In the long term, teams would watch beaches for pollution, signs of erosion and evidence of invasive species.
