The Saugus High baseball team was trailing 5-0, but the Sachems overcame the five-run deficit and defeat Stoneham 14-7 at World Series Park in Saugus Tuesday.Saugus was down 5-0 in the bottom of the third, when the Sachems produced two home runs by Vinny Talluto and Mike Greene, and the game was tied 5-5 after the third inning. Saugus had a 7-5 lead when Stoneham tied up the game 7-7 in the top of the sixth. The Sachems exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth and never looked back. Leading the way for the Sachems was Dave Wintham (3 hits, 2 RBI); Greene (3 hits, 1 HR, 3 RBI); Talluto (2 hits, 1 HR, 4 RBI) and Nick Freehling (2 hits, 3 RBI). Dominic DiPesa picked up the win in relief. DiPesa pitched two innings, giving up no runs and only one hit.
