Roundup: Lynnfield tennis keeps on rolling

The Lynnfield High girls tennis team just keeps on going.The Pioneers (2-0) won their 50th consecutive Cape Ann League match Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Wilmington at Wilmington. He had amazing control and never got himself into trouble. I still expect my team to have a very good season, we just lost to a better team today,” Bettencourt said.The Tanners’ Ramses Vittini had two of the four team hits and had the only RBI. The triple jump mark for Dada qualifies him for states. George Clark won the high jump (5-4). Angel Melendez had two seconds (400 hurdles and 110 hurdles). Freshman Jalen Brown had two third-place finishes in his first meet.Fenwick 123, Matignon 12Fenwick 107, Trinity Catholic 32At Matignon, Fenwick had eight first-place finishers: Tom Banks, 100 meters (11.7) and 800 meters (2:06); Bill Klemczuk, triple jump (38-4) and high jump (5-2); Conor McCormack, 110 hurdles (19.8); Brandon Jordan, long jump (17-9); and Zach Nardone, shot put (43-2) and javelin (137-11). Fenwick is 3-0.Austin Prep 83, St. Mary’s 49At Reading, the Spartans (1-1) had some solid individual performances. Todd Collier won the 100 hurdles (19.8); Dominic Barceleau, mile (5:51); Andrew DiMaiti, the 400 (58.9) and Jack Simpson, Pat Hogan, Sean Maher and Barceleau, the 4×400 relay. DiMaiti also took second in the 800 and Ian Grocki won the javelin (123 feet).Chelsea 88, Tech 54At Chelsea, the 4×100 relay picked up the Tigers’ only first place.
