Before his Rio Grande Valley Vipers play the Austin Toros today in a semifinal matchup at State Farm Arena, former Lynn Tech and Memphis star Antonio Anderson will receive an award for his solid season in the NBA Development League.Anderson, a 6-6, 215-pound guard, received D-League third-team recognition on Friday. Teammates Mike Harris (first team), Will Conroy (second team) and Garrett Temple (honorable mention) also earned honors.Anderson averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists (eighth in the league) and 39.5 minutes (fifth in the league) in 40 regular-season games (all starts). He earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder and signed two ten-day contracts before returning to the Vipers.In Game One of the semifinals in Austin on Saturday, the Toros defeated the Vipers 122-120. Anderson recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in the game. Anderson and the Vipers must win today’s game to force a winner-take-all Game Three.
