English bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to Peabody in its last game with a 9-2 win over Revere Monday at Keaney Park.The Bulldogs brought the bats and the gloves to this one. After spotting Revere a 1-0 lead in the first inning, catcher Cara Crowley tripled to score Jessica Dellazoppa with the tying run. English put four on the board in the second inning with Val Fiaccaprile, Sammy Earp and Crowley all singling in runs. English added another run in the third and three in the sixth to put the game away.English pounded out 14 hits, led by Fiaccaprile (4-for-5, 2 RBI, run scored); Cathia Hernandez (3-for-4, RBI, 3 runs scored); Crowley (2-for-3, triple, 2 RBI); and Tiffany Drown (2-for-4, 2 runs scored). Freshman centerfielder Danielle Moran singled in the third run.”I don’t think I’ve ever seen three triples in a row like that,” Classical coach Chris Warren said. “They were swinging a good stick. It gave us the spark we needed.”Coppinger also notched the shutout, fanning seven and walking two.”Mackenzie pitched excellent all day,” Warren said. “She was in full control. She never faced more than four batters in one inning.”Beverly pitcher Sarah Pezzulo was also stingy with the hits.”The two pitchers were both pitching really well,” Warren said. “It was a clean game on both sides. She (Pezzulo) only gave up five hits. Gina Reppucci had a nice game for Saugus.Salem 2, Peabody 1At Salem, the Witches (6-1) handed the Tanners (3-1) their first loss after tying the game, 1-1, in the fourth inning on a Stephanie Garcia single and winning it in the fifth thanks to a hit batter, two stolen bases and an error. Peabody scored its run in the second inning when Kaleigh Ryan singled and scored on a Morgan Yeo double.Nicole Wilson allowed three hits, one walk and struck out seven in the loss. Salem pitcher Sarah Chasse allowed five hits, one walk and struck out six in a complete game. She only had one runner reach second. Chasse had some help from her catcher, Rachel Channen, who gunned down Katie Brunelle trying to steal in the third.Pentucket 3, Lynnfield 2At Lynnfield, two unearned runs in the early innings proved costly to the Pioneers (2-5). Sophomore pitcher Melody Mancinelli (1-1) had a solid outing despite the loss. She struck out eight and allowed one earned run. She also had two hits. Senior co-captain Abby Tobin had two doubles, including one in the second that drove in both Lynnfield runs. Sarah Goldstein and Taylor Reska also helped out at the plate.Danvers 16, Marblehead 7At Marblehead, Kate Ward went 2-for-3 (3 RBI) with a two-run homer in the seventh; Hannah Demirdogan went 2-for-3 and Logan Caravello had a pair of hits, including a two-run triple and two RBI. Taylor-Marie Ouellette allowed 12 hits, fanned three and walked one in the win. Danvers is 3-2.Austin Prep 3, Fenwick 0At Peabody, the Crusaders (3-5) mustered their only hit in the sixth inning – a single by Katherine Melanson. Alyssa Begin only allowed five hits in the loss.
