SWAMPSCOTT – If you’re paying your taxes in Town Hall on Monday, be sure to grab some sweet treats from the bake table while you’re there.Town Hall is having a bake sale on May 3 from 9-11 a.m. to raise money for the Fourth of July fireworks, which are held in conjunction with Lynn.Administrative Assistant Maureen Shultz, who coordinates the annual fireworks fundraising, said Town Hall employees are hoping to make this an annual event.”Monday is tax day,” she said. “All tax bills are due on Monday so we are hoping to have some foot traffic into the building.”Shultz said Town Hall employees are donating the baked goods, which will be sold at a table in front of the Town Clerk’s Office.”Two of our senior volunteers, Peggy Sullivan and Clara Grimes, will be working at the bake sale table,” she said. “The Town Hall employees have been wonderful and everyone volunteered to make something. It should be fun.”Shultz said the fireworks would be held on July 3 in conjunction with the city of Lynn.”Our goal is to raise at least $30,000,” she said.The Fourth of July Committee also has Fourth of July t-shirts on sale for $12 and Swampscott visors for $3 in Town Hall.Anyone who would like to make a donation for the fireworks can send a check or money made payable to the Fourth of July Committee to Swampscott Town Hall, 22 Monument Ave., Swampscott 01902.The town is also looking for individuals to coordinate the annual Fourth of July Parade.
