When the teams headed into sudden death, Nicole Napolitano scored the winning goal for the Tanners. Napolitano finished with three goals and one assist.”This was a huge win for us,” said Peabody coach Dennis Desroches. “We had a letdown earlier in the week, which I think was a wakeup call for this team. We responded today in a big way against a top team.”Peabody (7-3) goalie Brittany Costa came up big in the overtime period. Costa made two saves in the sudden death period on free possessions to keep the Tanners in the game. Costa finished with 26 saves. Costa also had a crucial assist late in the game.For Peabody, Brittany Lefave led all scorers with five goals and one assist. Katie Teixeira scored four goals, Shannon Silvia two, and Casey Broughton added one goal and an assist.Marblehead 24, Swampscott 8At Swampscott, the Big Blue could not turn back the onrush of the Magicians.
