SWAMPSCOTT – Swampscott High School Assistant Principal Bryan Menegoni is one of two finalists for the associate principal position at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.Menegoni started working in Swampscott in the fall of 2008 as the assistant principal for curriculum, instruction and assessment. The Hamilton-Wenham position is not the first principal job Menegoni has applied for this year. In March, he was one of the finalists for the principal position in Marblehead but he was not offered the job.Prior to accepting the job in Swampscott, Menegoni was employed at Andover High School. In the past, he taught high school science at Osseo High School in Minnesota, Winthrop High School and Marblehead High School. Menegoni has a Bachelor of Science degree in genetics and cell biology and a Master’s degree in science education from the University of Minnesota. He also has a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Harvard University.According to published reports, administrators from the Hamilton-Wenham District would be making site visits and checking candidate references this week. Superintendent Marinel McGrath said he expects a decision would be made by the end of the week.Mengoni said if he is offered the position in Hamilton-Wenham, he would not leave Swampscott before the end of the academic year.”I love Swampscott,” he said. “I’m certainly not unhappy here. But I live very close to the school and with young children it would be ideal.”
