SWAMPSCOTT – The district is going to have to search for a replacement for Swampscott High School Assistant Principal Bryan Menegoni, who has accepted a position as associate principal at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.Menegoni started working in Swampscott in the fall of 2008 as the assistant principal for curriculum, instruction and assessment. His last day in Swampscott will be June 30.”I’m going to miss Swampscott a lot,” Menegoni said. “I’m going to miss the students and adults I work with every day. But Swampscott is difficult to get to from anywhere and this other opportunity is very close to my home. It’s something I just couldn’t pass up.”Calls to Interim Superintendent Maureen Bingham were not returned Tuesday. According to a press release issued by Hamilton-Wenham Public Schools, Menegoni, who was one of 38 applicants for the position, starts work on July 1.”In his initial interview and during his subsequent visit to our school we received a tremendous amount of positive feedback about Mr. Menegoni’s care for education and the welfare of his students,” the release read. “Mr. Menegoni’s time with our students was a key point in his visit with us at the high school, as all of the students were impressed by his communication skills and sense of humor. We knew we had a quality applicant as we went to visit Mr. Menegoni at Swampscott High School.”Prior to accepting the job in Swampscott, Menegoni was employed at Andover High School. In the past, he taught high school science at Osseo High School in Minnesota, Winthrop High School and Marblehead High School. Menegoni has a Bachelor of Science degree in genetics and cell biology and a Master’s degree in science education from the University of Minnesota. He also has a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Harvard University.
