School: Tech laxmen get first win of season

The Lynn Tech boys lacrosse team played a far from perfect game on Friday at Manning Field, but the outcome was still what the Tigers wanted: a 9-6 win over Cambridge.”Our defense played awesome,” Tech coach Jay Richards said. “We made a lot of mistakes and there’s still a lot of learning to do, but it was a win.”Jason Grant had a hat trick and Jake O’Neil had two goals and two assists to lead Tech. Jeremy Quentin had a goal and two assists while Chan San and Sean Norris had a goal and an assist each. Kyle Gagnon added the other Tech goal with Dana Kinney picking up two helpers.Scott Crooker made 20 stops in goal for the Tigers.GIRLS LACROSSEFenwick 18, Shawsheen 5At Donaldson Field in Peabody, Becca Graves completed the regular season the way she started it: on a goal scoring binge. Graves had 10 goals to lead the Crusaders while Grace Celona added a hat trick. Allie Stote and Elly O’Leary had two goals each as well.BASEBAllGloucester 7, Salem 1At Salem, Shawn Hull pitched a complete game allowing four hits while striking out seven as the Fishermen improved to 12-4.Santo LoGrasso broke the game open in the sixth with a ground rule double that drove in two runs.Conor Ressel, Brett Cahill and Gilbert Brown added two hits each for Gloucester, which travels to Saugus on Monday
