SWAMPSCOTT – Fundraising for the town Fourth of July festivities is heating up.Earlier this month town employees had a bake sale in the lobby of Town Hall and raised $225 for the annual fireworks display, which will be held July 3 in conjunction with Lynn. Plans have also been made for a “Dough Raiser.”The “Dough Raiser” will be held all day at Uno Chicago Grill in Vinnin Square on May 27.For every patron who presents a fireworks fundraising coupon on May 27, the restaurant will donate 20 percent of proceeds from that sale to the fireworks.Administrative Assistant Maureen Shultz, who is coordinating fundraising for the fireworks, said the coupons can not be distributed at Uno Chicago Grill the day of the event so residents should pick up a coupon in Town Hall or download it online at www.town.swampscott.ma.us.”Chicago Grill will donate up to 2 percent of each sale with a coupon to the town Fourth of July fund,” she said. “The money will go towards the fireworks, which is awesome.”Shultz said the town needs to raise $30,000 for the Fourth of July fireworks and other festivities. The Fourth of July Committee also has Fourth of July t-shirts on sale for $12 and Swampscott visors for $4 in Town Hall.Anyone who would like to make a donation for the fireworks can send a check or money order made payable to the Fourth of July Committee to Swampscott Town Hall, 22 Monument Ave., Swampscott 01902.
