Award-winning author visits Lynn English

LYNN – Best-selling young adult author Laurie Faria Stolarz recently met with Lynn English High School’s book group.Forty-five students waited for an hour after school to meet the award-winning author, who met with them for more than two hours to sign books, answer questions and talk to them about the writing and publishing industry.”Students were very enthusiastic, telling the author how much her work means to them,” librarian Linda Barefield said. “Many of them have started writing their own novels as a result. Stolarz detailed her path to publication and inspired students to persevere in whatever it is they want to do.”Stolarz was born and raised in Salem and is a graduate of Merrimack College. She received a Master’s degree in creative writing from Emerson College and is currently working on the novel ‘Deadly Little Games,’ the third book in her Touch series, which has been published by Hyperion/Disney Books for Children.Stolarz is the author of several popular young adult novels with nearly a million copies in print. Her work has been on a number of awards lists, including the Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers, the Top Ten Teen Pick and YALSA’s Popular Paperback list, which are all chosen by the American Library Association.
