LYNN – Masconomet seniors Chris Splinter and Evan Bunker had gone 0-for-their careers against Gloucester on the football field, costing them two possible trips to a Super Bowl. On Wednesday at Fraser Field, the duo exorcised some of those demons in a big way.Bunker twirled a complete game, three-hit gem and drove in four runs while Splinter had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run as the Chieftains remained perfect with a 13-1 win over Gloucester in the Division 2 North semifinals.Masco (22-0) will play either North Andover or Reading on Saturday (TBA) in the North final at LeLacheur Park in Lowell.Gloucester (17-6) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Conor Ressel singled and later scored on Adam Philpott’s fielders choice. The Chieftains, though, rallied right back for four runs in the bottom of the first.Splinter doubled home Jason Katz to tie the game before Bunker belted a three-run homer to make it 4-1. Masco added five more runs in the second to assume control at 9-1.Masco tacked on four more runs in the fourth while Bunker retired 15 of the last 16 batters he faced in the game.
