The Swampscott girls tennis team fell in its bid to become the Division 2 North champions, losing to Winchester, 4-1.The St. John’s Prep boys lacrosse team defeated Lincoln-Sudbury today, 11-8, to capture the Eastern Mass. championship. The Prep needs only to beat Duxbury Wednesday to win the championship, as there are no central or western Massachusetts entries in Division 1.St. John’s came into the tournament seeded second at 16-2. The ony team higher than the Prep was Duxbury at 19-1.The St. Mary’s Division 3 North softball final against Austin Prep was postponed. It’ll be played Sunday (5) at Martin Field, Lowell. The Spartans, who have won the last two D3 North titles, are also looking to repeat as state champs.St. John’s Prep’s baseball team was also schedule to play today against Lawrence for the Division 1 North title, but that, too, got put off to Sunday (4) at LeLacheur Park in Lowell.
