LYNN – Lynn author Kat Black met with Harrington Elementary students in grades 2-5 Friday to serve as an author-in-residence. She spoke to the children about reading and writing, as well as what it is like to have a book published. Black is the author of fantasy novel ‘The Templar’s Apprentice,’ which is a part of The Book of Tormod series.”Kat shared with the students how she researched information for her book and her travels to Scotland to add accurate details to her book,” school librarian Carole Schutzer said. “We were thrilled to have her be part of the library programs for this school year.”Students met with Black throughout the school day before spending time writing their own stories “using their imaginations and mental images.””Their stories and illustrations will be collated for a book in the library at the Harrington School and will be part of the permanent student work collection,” Schutzer said.
