SAUGUS – Police responded to Eastern Bank, 605 Broadway St., at 1:32 p.m. Friday after an alarm company reported the panic alarm had been set off and Saugus Police dispatch had received a 911 hang-up call from the bank.An employee reported the bank had been robbed by a male who claimed to be in possession of a firearm. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5’1″-5’5″ tall with a slim build, multi-colored dress hat, black shirt and spoke English with a slight accent.No direction of flight or vehicle information was known at the time of the response. Detective Murphy and Detective Sargent Gecoya are investigating.
