LYNN – Lynn English High School and Lynn Vocational Technical Institute were recently honored during the seventh annual JFY Net Achievement Awards ceremony at the State House. The ceremony was hosted by Cambridge Democrats Sen. Salvatore DiDomenico and Rep. Martha Walz at the Grand Staircase in the State House. Awards were presented to LVTI library media specialist Kim McFarlane and English High teachers Colbe Mazzarella and Tiffany McFarlane.”I’m very proud of our school, because the discipline team makes it possible for teachers to teach,” Mazzarella said. “In my opinion, that’s the secret of our success.”The awards are given each year to selected schools and individuals who have made significant contributions to improve student achievement in Massachusetts through the JFY Net e-learning program. The award winners were honored for innovative thinking and determination to create the best possible learning environment for students. The instructional technology resource is the largest e-learning program in the Commonwealth. JFY NetWorks is a non-profit education and work force development agency based in Boston and its program has provided instructional technology resources and professional development to 23 schools in 15 districts in Massachusetts since 2002.
