Two arrested in Swampscott BB shooting

SWAMPSCOTT – A woman was hit by a shot fired from a BB gun and two local males are under arrest.
According to police, Matthew Prunier, 22, 31 Cherry St. and a a 15-year-old juvenile male from Swampscott were arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a BB gun/air rifle on a public way. Prunier was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and the juvenile will face an additional charge of being a minor in possession of a BB gun.
According to Detective Sgt. Tim Cassidy, the 43-year old female victim was walking her dog on Jessie Street when she was hit by a shot from a BB gun.?We responded to a report of a woman being shot in the neck by unknown assailants,” he said. “She was pretty shocked and had quite a cut on her neck.”
Cassidy said immediately following the call, Officer Thomas Hennessey spotted two male suspects on bikes in the vicinity of Beach Avenue and Columbia Street.
?The male parties were stopped and frisked for weapons,” he said. “Sgt. Jay Locke, Officers Dave Skomurski and Brendan Reen arrived on scene and located a BB gun, pellets and a CO2 cartridge on Prunier.
Cassidy said the victim was treated at the scene by Action Ambulance.
