SAUGUS – It was about as complete a performance as manager Mike Mageary could have hoped for from his Lynn 15-year old Babe Ruth all-stars on Friday at World Series Park.Lynn had everything going on Friday, pounding out 24 hits and 28 runs while Ben Bowden struck out eight and allowed only three hits en route to a 28-1, 5-inning win over Danvers.”Our 1-through-5 hitters crushed the ball and the rest of the guys followed suit,” Mageary said. “We put the bat on the ball and looked pretty sharp.”Lynn was an astounding 24-for-44 at the plate on Friday as all but two players picked up at least one hit and 10 different players drove in runs to help move the team on to a date with Beverly on Tuesday (5:30).The tone was set early as Lynn sent 12 batters to the plate in the first time, picking up nine runs on five hits and five Danvers errors.Justin O’Blenes singled and was at third with one out for Kyle Devin, who drove the first of his five hits in the game to center to make it 1-0. Bowden followed with a single but was erased on Matt Merritt’s fielders’ choice.Chris Narducci walked and Cam Hegarty hit a routine grounder to short that was booted, allowing two runs to score for a 3-0 lead and opening the floodgates. Chris Coito reached on an error, scoring Narducci, before Matt Dube singled home another run.Coito scored on an throwing error at the plate before O’Blenes and Brendan Mageary later crossed to complete the marathon inning.Bowden came out and pitched around an error in the bottom of the first, sending his red hot offense back to the plate. His mates responded by sending 13 more batters into the plate and pushing across seven runs on six more hits. Narducci; Hagerty; O’Blenes and Devin all picked up RBIs in the inning.”This is a good team,” Mageary said. “They have great chemistry and they all can play.”Bowden also was cruising right along on the mound, working another quiet inning in the second before Lynn tacked on nine more runs in the third as its bench got involved.Joe Rose; Jake Meagher and P.J. Dorsey came off the bench to drive home runs. Devin picked up his third RBI of the night in the third while Bowden got his third hit and an RBI during the inning.Danvers would get on the board in the bottom of the third via an RBI single from Joe Buccheri. Lynn, however, would cap its day in grand style as Bowden blasted a three-run homer in the fifth to cap the bludgeoning.
