LYNN ? Kick back, relax and enjoy rousing renditions of Celtic favorites and old sea chanteys this evening at Red Rock Park with Curragh’s Fancy.Front man Bob Fowkes said the group, which has been together since 1981, has performed at festivals, concerts and coffeehouses around the Northeast.The group has performed with notable Celtic and folk performers including the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.” We have played at the Red Rock Park Concert Series for several years now,” Fowkes said. “It is one of the most spectacular settings you will find. The ocean, the park itself and the people who attend the concerts all combine to make it one of the most enjoyable shows that we play all year. The Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach do a wonderful job of filling out a great lineup of concerts every year, and we are thrilled to be part of the series.”Foukes, Dave Leahy and Michael Kelley make up the band. All three share in the singing and playing various instruments including the guitar, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, bouzouki and bass.The free concert is part of the Summer Series sponsored by the Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach, a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship and promotion of the beach.The show begins at 6 this evening. Light refreshments will be available for sale and proceeds will go to Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach programs. Red Rock Park is located along the beach on Lynn Shore Drive.Other upcoming concerts in the series include Shuffle Mode on Aug. 5, 12:01 Blues Band on Aug. 12 and Mary Beth Maes Band on Aug. 19.
