Carol Adams prevailed over Karen Solomon to win the Ladies Club Championship at Kernwood in Salem on Wednesday.Adams, the defending champion, defeated Solomon on the first extra hole after a 36-hole event.”My partner played real well,” Solomon said. “It was a great match.”Both Adams and Solomon are Marblehead residents.Solomon said that she played well on the first day of the two-day tournament (she led all players with an 84 after day one, with Adams close behind at 85), but added that near the end “I began to tire out and mentally lose my focus.”Weather-wise, Solomon said, “I don’t think it was really that bad. Some days it was a lot hotter than these two.”
