DANVERS ? The federal government filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the owners of an ink and paint factory on the Danvers River that exploded and burned in 2006.The civil action in U.S. District Court in Boston amended a complaint filed in March.The lawsuit seeks to recoup $2.7 million from operators of C.A.I. Inc., Arnel Co. Inc., and two related owner entities in connection with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) cleanup of the site after the blast that happened the day before Thanksgiving.
