Grammy nominated singer Karrin Allyson closes out the 26th season of the Marblehead Summer Jazz series Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford St.The Kansas native spent the last 15 years carving out an impressive career as a singer, songwriter, pianist, composer and bandleader. Over the years, Allyson has performed in jazz clubs and festivals around the world.Most recently, the vocalist released “Imagina: Songs of Brazil,” a collection of 14 tracks in Portuguese and Brazilian with English translations.”Whatever your language,” she says, “I hope that these songs speak directly to your heart, as they have to mine.”Joining Allyson in Marblehead are guitarist Rod Fleeman, who studied with John Elliott and gigged nightly with Hammond B-3 player Greg Meise.Ed Howard, of the Roy Haynes Quartet, completes the rhythm section on bass. Howard, of New York City has recorded with Clifford Jordon and has performed with a wide range of jazz greats including Pat Metheny and trumpeter Eddie Henderson.Tickets for the show are $26 in advance or $28 at the door.
