While the Lynn All-Stars bowed out of the Medford Invitational baseball tournament against Tewksbury at Medford this past weekend, Lynn manager Ron Gaudet was pleased with his team’s overall performance in its first-ever run in the tournament.”For our first time, it was a good showing,” Gaudet said. “I’m proud of the boys. They’re a great bunch of kids.”Lynn played five games in the tournament and went 2-3 after a 10-4 loss to Tewksbury in which Kyle Morrill and Matt Cunha each hit home runs. One more win would have given the squad a chance to move on.”If we had a little more time together, we could possibly have done a little better,” Gaudet said. “We were starting to click pretty well together.”The team consisted of 12 players, all of whom are either 11 or 12 years old and represent a city Little League program. There were four from Pine Hill, three each from Wyoma and West Lynn American and two from East Lynn.”They got to know each other for the future,” Gaudet said. “It’s a stepping-stone along the path.”He praised the Lynn-area fans who came to the games at Columbus Memorial Park to show their support, and said that Lynn has been invited back for next year.”They told us Lynn was a class act, that the fans and coaching staff were a pleasure to have,” Gaudet said.
