SWAMPSCOTT – Firefighters had to fight two small structure fires in town in as many days.
Fire broke out at the height of the torrential rains on Wednesday morning at 37 Franklin St., which is owned by Department of Public Works employee David Gustavsen.
Capt. Jim Potts said it was a small fire that was knocked down quickly.
?It started where electrical wires enter the house,” he said. “There was some minor damage to the first floor and basement.”
A small fire broke out at 444 Humphrey St. Tuesday evening at approximately 9:16 p.m. at the White Hen Pantry.
Potts explained the fire was in a wooden freestanding parapet wall over the store.
?The firefighters were able to open it up and put the fire right out,” he said. “There was very little damage.”
