Nahant garden tour Saturday

NAHANT – Area residents will have the opportunity Saturday to meander through a number of seaside gardens and soak up Patios, Porches and Peaceful Views.The Nahant Garden Club’s annual garden tour, which is its major fundraising event of the year, will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., rain or shine.The tour allows participants to leisurely tour eight Nahant properties with beautiful gardens, patios and porches. Chrysanthemums, kale and asters will be available to purchase at several locations on the tour.One of the gardens on the tour is the seaside garden of Willow Road resident Sheridan Maguire.”The porch overlooks Tudor Beach and the town wharf,” Maguire said. “It is the highlight of the property. I have some shrubbery and perennials in the garden with chrysanthemums for color. It has been a dry summer but I still have some basil, tomatoes and a few annuals limping along.”Tickets for the tour are $25 per person and will be available the day of the tour at Nahant Associates, 169 Nahant Road. When purchasing tickets, participants will be given a brochure and map of the gardens.
