LYNN – A Mall Street resident is facing drug and illegal weapons charges as a result of an investigation by Lynn and State Police.Frank Sanchez, 30, of 86 Mall St., Lynn, was arraigned Friday in Lynn District Court and charged with three counts of illegal firearms possession, illegal possession of ammunition, trafficking the Class B drug ecstasy and possession of 14 large bags of marijuana. On Thursday, police stopped Sanchez on Washington Street and arrested him for selling a gun to an undercover police detective in late August. During that arrest, police showed Sanchez a search warrant for his Mall Street home that he shares with his girlfriend and four children. According to police, Sanchez responded to the warrant by saying, “Everything you’re looking for is in the room next to the kitchen, it’s all mine.”During a search of Sanchez’s home, police found $7,400 and a large bag of marijuana in a dresser in the master bedroom. In the family room, they found a round of 38 caliber ammunition on top of the computer, a 9 mm semi automatic under a cushion on the couch, a large bag of marijuana on the windowsill and several bags of both marijuana and ammunition in the center console in the couch. Police also found a gun magazine clip on the floor in front of the computer, a bag of marijuana near the window and $17,150 stuffed into the drawer of another piece of furniture.A search of the basement turned up two more semi-automatic pistols and another bag of ammunition.Police informed Sanchez’s girlfriend she would receive a summons for the same criminal changes that Sanchez is now facing. They also plan to file a report of neglect to the state Department of Child and Families on behalf of the children.
