BOSTON – A Lynn man and suspected gang member who goes by the street tag “Double R” was indicted Wednesday for his role in the murder of an eighth-grade honor student in Boston.Ramon Silvelo-Miles, 20, of Lynn, is charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawfully carrying a firearm. He is the second suspect charged in connection with the May 8 slaying of Jaewon Martin, 14, an honor student at Timulty Middle School.Prosecutors said Silvelo-Miles drove the get-away car after the slaying.Timothy “Toolman” Hearns, 20, stands charged as the triggerman, as well as the suspect who fired the non-fatal bullet into a 15-year-old Jamaica Plain boy.Assistant District Attorney Edward Krippendorf said Martin and another person were walking to the basketball court at Columbus and Heath streets near the Bromley-Heath housing development when they stopped to talk to two young female acquaintances. Gang members associated with Heath Street are known to socialize in this area, said Krippendorf, adding that Martin was “an eighth-grade honor roll student at the Timulty Middle School and was not a member of the Heath Street gang.”While the victims were playing basketball, Hearns was traveling to the housing project along with Silvelo-Miles and others in two cars. On arrival, Hearns stepped out of the car, drew a loaded revolver and opened fire on the ballplayers. Martin was struck in the chest. He died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.Krippendorf said one of the cars involved in the shooting belonged to Silvelo-Miles and that the suspect’s cell phone records place him near the crime scene at the time of the shooting.”Silvelo-Miles and his group were going to the Heath Street area for the purpose of shooting someone from the Heath Street gang,” said Krippendorf.
