October 12, 2010 by jbutterworth

MARBLEHEAD – The Marblehead School Committee is seeking two to three community representatives to serve on its Superintendent Search Screening Committee. The Screening Committee is likely to meet in November, December and January, after a search firm is hired and an advertisement is placed for the superintendent position. Typically, Screening Committees meet on Saturdays and several weekday evenings. Screening committee candidates must have the ability to attend all meetings. The committee will carefully review resumes that have been vetted by the search firm and choose semi-finalists for confidential interviews. Final candidates will then be interviewed by the full School Committee. Screening Committee candidates should submit a one page resume and a cover letter explaining interest, past or current volunteer activities and strengths or talents that would benefit the committee.Application materials should be sent to the Business Office, School Administration Building, Mary Alley Office Building, 9 Widger Road, Marblehead MA 01945, and envelopes should clearly be labeled “Applicant for Screening Committee- Community Member.”Questions can be addressed to either of the School Committee Superintendent Search Representatives, EuRim Chun ([email protected]) or Kathy Leonardson ([email protected] ).The School Committee believes in the importance of a diverse representation of community members on the Screening Committee. Many other constituencies will be represented on the screening committee including parents, administrators, teachers, and town representatives, with members selected and sent forward by their respective groups.
