The Peabody boys soccer team’s defense was the key as the Tanners defeated English 2-1 at Peabody Tuesday.English drew first blood when Mohammed Abdalkaby scored (assisted from Leo Awokang) to give English an early 1-0 lead. Peabody’s Colin Mahoney scored to tie the game 1-1. The tie was broken for good when Luke Finkelstein scored off a rebound to give the Tanners (7-1-1) a 2-1 lead. Peabody coach Stan McKeen was very pleased with his team’s performance.”This was a big game for my team.
