5 bands play Lynn Auditorium Saturday

LYNN ? Five bands will roar onto the statge at Lynn Memorial Auditorium this Saturday night to raise funds for the Lynn Lions Club.Night Flight, Rockage, Reunion, White Lightnin’ and Lois Lane and the Daily Planet are all scheduled to take stage during the four hour rock and roll for charity event.White Lightnin’ front man Tony Gallo said he is looking forward to the gig.?It’s a good cause,” Gallo said. “I’m from Lynn and want to do what I can to help out. It’s a way for us to give back to the community.”Gallo is one of the co-founders of the group and has been performing since he was 16. He started his music career playing guitar and he sings lead vocals and plays harmonica with White Lightnin’. During the course of his career Gallo, who prides himself on his versatility as a performer, has played with such notables as Al Vega, Paul Fontaine, Brass Force, Brian Maes and the Mid- Life Crisis Jazz Band.The other members of the band are Jeff Hanson, Glen Ahearn, Sam Biancuzzo, John DiTomaso and Kevin Kennedy.Lois Lane and the Daily Planets are a mainstay on the Boston area music scene with their unique mix of classic rock, blues, rhythm and blues, funk, jazz and soul. Lane, who is from Saugus, has been singing professionally for years. She lived in London where she was lead singer for Island recording artists Eye Witness and also worked as a sessions singer in Los Angeles before moving back to the North Shore. She has performed with Phil Wilson, Al Vega and Yo Mama. She has also performed with The Average White Band, Stovall Brown, James Montgomery and the Bluehemians.The members of Rockage have played in numerous North Shore bands of the year.Guitarist Paul Narducci, who is a Lynn resident, said the band plays mainly heavy rock form the 1970’s.?We play a lot of Aerosmith and Led Zepplin type stuff,” he said. “We’re really looking forward to playing at Lynn City Hall.”Rockage front man is Beverly resident Mark Pagliarulo. He is joined by Narducci, guitarist Greg Gallo, Jim Doran on bass and Rick McLaughlin on drums.Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce Office Manager Sandra Lewis, who helped organize the event, said all proceeds would go to the Lynn Lions Club for its charitable work.?It’s a great cause,” she said. “The Lions Club does a lot of wonderful work in the community.”If You Go?The four-hour showgets underway at 7 p.m. Saturday. Ticketsare $12 at the door.
