More Lynn athletic field benches stolen

LYNN – Aluminum benches at another Little League field in Lynn was hit last night by thieves.

The theft comes on the heels of a the theft of aluminum benches from three East Lynn Little League fields sometime during the weekend.Bill Allen, vice president for East Lynn Little League, said he was informed by police that bleachers were stolen from Kiley Park on Monday evening. The baseball field in Kiley Park is used by Lynn Shore Little League.Lynn Shore Little League President Dave Dorgan was shocked when he heard seating had been stolen from the field.?We’re the smallest and poorest league in the city,” he said. “This is so disheartening. I just can’t believe people would do this to our baseball field.”Lynn Shore Little League Field Director Mark Sullivan said the theft is a new low.?Several times in the last few years the field has been targeted by vandals,” he said. “The economy has hit us really hard and we serve some of the poorest neighborhoods in Lynn. We’ve had things stolen before but this is crazy.”Attempts to reach Lynn Police Lt.
