Johnnie’s Foodmaster in Lynn not changing

December 2, 2010 by dliscio

LYNN – The owner of Johnnie’s Foodmaster supermarket on Boston Street said Thursday he has scrapped plans to convert the store into a Save-a-Lot after receiving a barrage of phone calls and e-mails from longtime customers concerned about the change.
According to John DeJesus, owner and company president, a story in the Daily Item about the proposed conversion was heavily circulated among his loyal customers and set off a torrent of complaints.
“I have decided to leave everything as it is,” DeJesus said. “As of right now, I’m putting the conversion on hold.”
