Morgan Jenkins scored her 1,000th point of her Patriot career, as the Revere girls basketball team defeated Peabody 76-39 Tuesday night in Revere.Revere coach Diana DeCristoforo was very impressed with Jenkins’ performance.”Morgan is a really special player, and it is good to see her score her 1,000th point at home,” DeCristoforo said.Peabody coach Jane Heil was very impressed with Jenkins’ talent.”Jenkins is a complete player. She plays both ends of the floor very well and rebounds the ball extremely well. She can handle the ball like a point guard and is a very gifted playmaker to go along with her scoring ability,” Heil said.Jenkins had a double-double in the game (20 points and 15 rebounds). It was a tie game after the first quarter, but the Patriots outscored the Tanners 56-19 from that point on. Marissa Parent had a strong game for the Patriots (18 points and 8 assists). Revere remains undefeated and improves its record at 7-0.Carolyn Scacchi led Peabody with 15 points; Brittany LeFave added nine.Swampscott 50, Marblehead 46At Swampscott, it was a tale of two halves for the Big Blue. Swampscott found itself down 28-14 in the first half, but dominated the second half and outscored the Magicians 36-18. Leading the way for Swampscott and its comeback was Caroline Murphy. Murphy scored 20 points and added eight rebounds. Senior Meghan Shea had six big points including the go-ahead jumper late in the fourth quarter. Swampscott coach Jack Hughes was very proud of his team’s performance.”I was very happy that my team never got down on themselves. My team dug themselves a hole, but found a way to come out of it,” Hughes said.Swampscott is now 4-3.Whittier 67, Tech 25At Tech, Tech got off to a slow start and could never recover. Whittier was up 14-7 after the first quarter and never looked back. Leading the way for Tech was Lhyeshia Robinson. Robinson scored 10 points (team high). Hattie Watkins chipped in for Tech with eight points. Claribelle Ramirez had a strong game on the defensive end. Tech is now 1-6 and plays Shawsheen Friday.Lynnfield 60, Manchester 50At Lynnfield, the Pioneers got off to a slow start in the first quarter but picked up the effort from there on. Lynnfield only had a five-point lead after the first, but the Pioneers never trailed. Leading the way for Lynnfield was Kelsey Mancini. Mancini scored a game high 19 points. Jillian Farmer had a strong game as well (13 points). Brittany Hunt added 14 points. Shannon Lamusta played very aggressive on the offensive end, and ended up with nine points. Lynnfield is now 3-2.Winthrop 54, Saugus 37At Winthrop, the Vikings jumped out to an 18-11 lead after the first quarter, and never looked back. Leading the way for Winthrop (2-5) was Johnna Fisher. Fisher scored a game high 26 points. Temison Meggison had a strong performance as well with 10 points. Saugus had a strong performance from Gabby Cogliano (11 points, team high). Jackie Doherty and Alyssa Furtado both chipped in with nine points each.Danvers 43, Gloucester 38At Danvers, the Falcons were in a tough game throughout, but never trailed at any time. Danvers was up 20-15 at the half and never looked back. Leading the way for Danvers was Kellie Macdonald. Macdonald scored a game high 17 points. Sarah Palazola chipped in 10 points for Danvers. Danvers remains undefeated and improves its record to 7-0.In other action, Fenwick lost to Spellman 59-35.
