REVERE – A spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said there were no signs of “blood or foul play” at thescene where a body was discovered early Wednesday morning on Revere Beach Boulevard.”The remains are those of an Asian male who appears to be in his 20s,” said Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk County DistrictAttorney Daniel Conley. ” ? Investigators have made a tentative identification, based on documents found on the body.”Wark said detectives were trying to contact the family to confirm the identification.”An autopsy will be conducted Thursday to determine the cause or manner of death,” he said.He attributed the delay to the effects of cold on the body.Wark explained part of any death investigation entails looking through missing persons reports.”We did receive a report about a missing person from a family in Gloucester, but it is not that individual,” he said.He noted that a positive identification was expected by today.Shortly after 10 a.m., the three State Police cruisers at the scene were joined by a white van from the coroner’s office.Motorists slowed to a crawl along Revere Beach early Wednesday morning to watch State Troopers assist the Suffolk CountyMedical Examiner’s Office in removing the body discovered behind the South Bath House.A passerby found the body and notified authorities at 8:30 a.m. State Police cordoned off the pathway beside the bathhouseconnecting the sidewalk to the beach. The body was slumped against the building, facing the water, partially buried in asnowdrift.A pickup truck was used to shroud removal of the body from the news media. The deceased appeared clad in jeans, shirt and acolorful belt.”It’s not a wash-up. I live down here and the tide does not come up to the bath house. Not even near it,” said Donna Cooper, aRevere Beach Boulevard resident. “I was on my way food shopping when I saw the police and van.”Steven Piel of Revere stopped by to find out what was going on. “I would guess that it’s probably a homeless man,” he said. “Inthe past several years, the DCR (state Department of Conservation and Recreation) has done a lot of work down here, making thebeach a nicer place. You don’t see too many things like this. If something washes in, it’s usually a dead porpoise or a seal.”The South Bath House on Revere Beach Boulevard is directly across from Sammy’s Lounge, Nick’s Place Pizza and Domino’sPizza, nearly in view of the State Police barracks.Last Dec. 24, the body of Andrew Hinterleitner, 37, was found behind his Revere Beach Parkway home, partially obscured by adumpster, leaves and snow. Suffering from dementia, Hinterleitner had been missing since Dec. 17. Police theorized he was takingout the trash on Dec. 16 when he became disoriented in the bitter cold.
