SALEM – A former female gang member, who was at the Olive Street home when the fatal shooting of Tony Pich occurred on Halloween night in 2008, testified as the trial continued in Salem Superior Court.Sadena Uth, 19, of Lynn, took the stand Wednesday testifying that she used to be a member of the Lady Avenue Crips gang, but is no longer. She told the jury that she was on the front porch at 1-3 Olive St. on Halloween night when Pich was shot.”What caused you to leave?” Assistant District Attorney Kristen R. Buxton asked her.”A shooter,” she replied.”How many gunshots did you hear,” asked Buxton.”Five,” Uth replied. She described how she went into the hallway and how Tony pushed her inside the doorway and then he fell to the ground.”He was fading away, his eyes rolled back,” detailed Uth.Then, she said, she and Daniel Maffei (known as “Bear”) carried him to “Bear’s” car and took him to the hospital. She testified she did not see who shot Pich because her back was toward the railing of the porch.Maffei, of Winthrop, also testified, saying he was the person who drove Pich to the hospital that night, but could not remember details because he was on Ecstasy and drinking.Pich, 22, a reported member of the AKC gang, known as the Avenue King Crips, was gunned down in front of his house at 1-3 Olive St. on Nov. 1, 2008.Jose Cabrera, now 20, a member of the Deuce Boyz gang, is on trial for the shooting of Pich, which authorities say was gang-related.Cabrera has pleaded innocent to the charge of murder in the first degree. He faces a life sentence behind bars with no chance of being paroled if convicted. The trial is expected to last into early February with Judge David A. Lowy presiding.
