SALEM – Three men who allegedly pistol whipped and kicked a 34-year-old Lynn man during a $40 holdup on High Street last month were indicted Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Starr Allen Johnson, 29, of 2 Kingsley Terrace, #3, Lynn, Curtis D. Stubbs, 19, of 66 Story Ave., Beverly and Joshua Q. Imadiyi, 18, of 31 Southville Court, Nashua, N.H., stand charged each with armed robbery and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The charges arise out of an incident in Lynn on the evening of Dec. 19 when the 34-year-old victim said he was walking down High Street, when three black males, dressed all in black clothing, came upon him and demanded his money.During the ordeal, the victim told authorities he was pistol whipped and repeatedly kicked before the thieves grabbed his wallet containing $40.After being robbed, the victim flagged down a cruiser and reported the incident. Soon after, police spotted the three suspects in a nearby parking lot on Union Street, who were then identified by the victim as the robbers. The gun used during the commission of the robbery reportedly turned out to be a BB gun.Assistant District Attorney Christina P. Ronan is prosecuting the case for the state. Also indicted was Boramy Thoeun, 20, of 167 North Common St., Lynn, charged with trafficking over 14 grams of heroin, two counts of possession of a large capacity weapon, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition concerns his arrest Nov. 5 when police raided his home and allegedly seized a quantity of heroin, two firearms and ammunition from his bedroom.Assistant District Attorney Michael Patten is assigned to prosecute the case for the state.Indictments are a legal formality that allows a case to be transferred from Lynn District Court to Salem Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment. It is not an indication of guilt.
