SALEM – Three suspects who police believe robbed a downtown Peabody bank last fall were indicted Friday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Joseph Hickson, 27, of 34 Temple St. and Scott Sharek, 24, both of West Roxbury, and Jennifer Maxwell, 26, of 8 Scott Circle, Dedham, are charged each with stealing by confining and putting in fear and larceny of property over $250.The charges arise out of an incident on Oct. 11 when police say the trio robbed the TD Bank on Main Street in downtown Peabody, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.Authorities believe Hickson, wearing dark shorts, a black hooded sweatshirt and an Adidas hat, walked into the bank, handed the teller a note, demanding cash and fled on foot to a waiting car. Sharek and Maxwell waited outside and drove Hickson away from the scene, according to police.The robbery took place around 3:30 p.m. No weapon was reported shown during the heist.Following an investigation the three suspects were arrested.Assistant District Attorney James P. Gubitose is prosecuting the case for the state.Indictments are a legal process that allows a case to be transferred from District Court to Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment. It is not an indication of guilt.
