NAHANT – Several area residents and town officials said even streets narrowed by snow are passable and they have no complaints about snow removal efforts in town.Harmony Court resident Maria Welsh said her street is one of the smallest in town, but it is clear.?The DPW is plowing all the streets with great care,” she said. “I’m amazed at how clean our streets are especially after driving in other towns. The DPW has done a stellar job plowing.”Castle Road resident Dick Hagoort, who has lived in town for more than 50 years, took a break from clearing his driveway to talk about snow removal efforts in town.?The town workers have done very well,” Hagoort said. “I am more than pleased with the job they do. The streets are clear and the town administrator (Mark Cullinan) is doing a great job. We consider ourselves very fortunate to live in this town.”Barbara Brownlie, who lives on Central Street, said she has not had any trouble navigating the streets in town even though some of the streets are a little narrow due to the mounds of snow.?The DPW has done a wonderful job,” she said. “The town doesn’t hire outside help and does it all themselves. “Selectman Richard Lombard said he has not received any complaints from residents, who have had difficulty navigating streets in town.?Superintendent Tim Lowe had done an outstanding job,” he said. “The entire DPW has work tirelessly day and night to keep the roads clear in every storm.”Selectman Lainey Titus said some of the streets in town are narrow due to the snow, but residents understand it is not the fault of the DPW.?People realize there is a lot of snow and no place to put it,” Titus said.Cullinan said the town has spent more than $70,000 on snow removal efforts so far this season but the results have been worth it.
