MARBLEHEAD – The Planning Board will hold a hearing March 22 on zoning bylaw revisions that could save Warren Johnson?s $1.1 million home on Bubier Road. The Committee for Common Sense Zoning has submitted two articles, one that would downsize the minimum legal house lot frontage from 100 to 75 feet and another that could downsize the required width of a house lot.The bylaw changes could make the undersized lot Johnson built his house on legal and invalidate a lawsuit filed by his neighbor John Schey, which resulted in a court order to move his home or tear it down.Last fall Johnson appealed a 2010 order to raze or remove his home to the state Appeals Court. A hearing is pending. Meanwhile Johnson and the Committee for Common Sense Zoning are trying to change the local bylaws and resolve the matter.
