NAHANT – Nahant Town Administrator Mark Cullinan said he expects the town will receive $75,000 in Chapter 70 money for repaving town roads. He is also asking Town Meeting to appropriate an additional $100,000 to pay for roadway repairs too.”We have a five-year road and sidewalk improvement plan,” he said.Cullinan expects several roads in Little Nahant and the Bass Point area to be repaved.Cullinan said the condition of roads is measured using a Paving Condition Index (PCI). The PCI, which was developed by the Army Corps of Engineers, is a numerical index between 0 and 100 with 0 being the worst and 100 excellent. He said the roads in town are in good shape when measured, but it is important to fund the paving management program to maintain the roads.
