The St. John’s boys track team turned in a sixth place finish in the Division 1 state championships on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in West Roxbury. The Eagles finished with a total of 24 points, tying with Attleboro and Somerville.The Eagles were led by a second place finish from Mike Galasso in the 600 (1:23.38). Sean Enos and Scott Sheehan came home fifth and sixth in the shotput with distances of 49-1 and 48-10 respectively and the Eagles 4 x 400 relay also placed third.Peabody finished in a 13th with 16 points as the Tanners got a third place from Zach Grube in the high jump (6-2) and a fifth by Evan Braz in the 1,000 (2:34.62). English’s Melvin Tavares was third in the 55 dash (6.69).The Tanner girls came home in a tie for 18th with 10 points. Catarina Rocha continued her stellar season as she came home second to Newton South’s Kathy O’Keefe in the mile. Rocha finished in 5:07.92.Sarah May had an eighth in the 600 (1:40.76) and Pam Zabala was eighth in the shotput (32-8).
