Faieta headlines local list of CCL hoop all-stars

St. Mary’s senior Tori Faieta has been named co-MVP of the Catholic Central League in women’s basketball for the 2010-11 regular season.Faieta and Alexis Udoji of Cardinal Spellman share co-MVP honors.”To be the recipient of the MVP in the Catholic Central League is a significant achievement,” St. Mary’s girls coach Jeff Newhall said. “Top to bottom, the CCL is the best league in eastern Massachusetts for girls basketball and to be the best player in that league is a great accomplishment.”This is Faieta’s fourth all-star selection and her first as MVP. In the fall, she is off to Stonehill for college while Udoji will attend the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.”(Faieta’s) had five great years at St. Mary’s,” Newhall said. “Hopefully we’ll be playing a few more weeks.”Local CCL basketball all-stars are:Girls: St. Mary’s seniors Faieta, Cassi Amenta and Kirsten Ferrari; and Bishop Fenwick seniors Amy Pelletier and Sarah James.Boys: St. Mary’s senior Ronsanto Campbell, juniors Nick Gagliolo and Devin Thompson, and sophomore Matt Manning; and Fenwick seniors Alex Morsey and Billy Klemczuk. Joey Glynn of Cardinal Spellman was the boys MVP.
