Add the all-state championship at 140 pounds to St. John’s Prep senior wrestler T.J. Crabtree’s impressive resume. Crabtree ran his season record to 51-0 when he defeated familiar foe Gary Shea of Longmeadow, 7-4, in Saturday’s title match at Salem High School. It was the third time this season the two had met in a tournament championship and the result was the same on each occasion. Crabtree also defeated Shea in the title match at the Woburn Tournament in January and for the Division One championship on Feb. 19.Crabtree (51-0) now has 189 career wins, second all-time at the Prep behind Mike Pedro’s state record 213 wins. He is seeking to become the fourth Eagle to finish an undefeated season under coach Manny Costa behind Pedro (61-0), Nathan Cote (58-0) and Ryan Malo (58-0).”T.J. wrestled with confidence all season and this weekend. There is a lot of pressure when you are the favorite. Everything else has nothing to lose. It’s tough to beat the same person continuously and credit goes to T.J. for sticking to his game plan and executing it. T.J. has worked hard for four years and got the title that he deserved,” said Costa.Crabtree’s Prep teammates Mike Mayo and Alex Kwmuntis both won one match before bowing out. Mayo (130 pounds) defeated Chris Hutchens of Natick before falling to Josh Hadley of Mt. Greylock. Mayo finished the season with a record of 46-4. Kwmuntis won his opening match before losing to eventual 135-pound champion James Smith of Natick and finished the season with a 41-11 individual record. In other bouts involving area wrestlers, Jake Powell of Marblehead/Swampscott fell to third-place finisher Jake Dalessandro of Milford at 103 pounds; and Philip Bishop of Lynnfield won two matches at 152 pounds before bowing to eventual runner-up Gabe Turetsky of Newton South.BOYS TRACKSt. John’s Prep finished 14th with 10 points in the All-State Meet at Reggie Lewis. Scott Sheehan (5th, shot put, 50-6), Bryan Browne (6th, 300, 36.32), Mike Galasso (7th, 600, 1:23.56) and the 4×200 relay team of Nick Pesaturo, Browne, Brandon West and Joey Dumas (8th, 1:33.86) scored for the Eagles.Saugus junior Olisa Obiefuna had the area’s best individual performance, placing second in the long jump with a leap of 21-8.Other area placers were: Peabody junior Zachary Grube (5th, high jump, 6-4), Peabody’s 4×800 relay team of Evan Braz, Nicholas Christensen, Nick Ingham and Keane Terenzoni (6th, 8:06.95), Peabody senior Braz (7th, 1,000, 2:33.99), Swampscott junior Jermaine Kelly (8th, 55-meter hurdles, 8.0) and Bishop Fenwick senior Zach Nardone (8th, shot put, 49-7 1/4).GIRLS TRACKHulerie McGuffie of Lynn Classical finished eighth in the 300 (41.69).
