LYNN – Irritated that his brother was visiting with his girlfriend, a Lynn man allegedly chased his sibling around his house with a knife on Sunday night while threatening to kill him.Chester Phillip Szczawinski, 43, of 11 Birch St., #1, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, knife, threat to commit a crime. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Stacy Fortes-White and released on personal recognizance under the condition that he not have contact with the victim. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for April 12.According to court documents, police responded to a home on Birch Street around 9 p.m. on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, the 39-year-old victim told police that his brother’s girlfriend had invited him over the house that she shares with Szczawinski.A couple hours later, the victim said his brother arrived home and started “flipping out.” The victim allegedly stated that Szczawinski grabbed a large kitchen knife, held it to his throat and threatened to kill him.The two continued their brawl outside as the victim said he was chased by Szczawinski around the house with the knife. Police say the landlord claimed to have heard a lot of yelling and saw Szczawinski allegedly holding a knife when he peeked outside.Police couldn’t find the suspect’s girlfriend, but the victim said he had noticed an injury on her ear. They later spotted her walking in the area of Birch Street, uninjured, where she allegedly said she didn’t want to get Szczawinski in trouble because she had a bad experience with the police.
