LYNN – A heated argument over money on Wednesday resulted in a Lynn man allegedly assaulting his father by hurling a sandwich at him and shouting obscenities.Brendan Michael McDonough, 22, of 85 Archer St., was charged with assault and battery on a disabled person over 60 and intimidation of a witness. He was arrai-gned Thursday at Lynn District Court by Judge Stacey Fortes-White and ordered held on $1,500 cash bail. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for April 11.According to court documents, police responded to a home on Archer Street on a report of a domestic disturbance between a father and son. Upon arrival, the 64-year-old victim said he was at home when his son walked in, allegedly drunk or under the influence of some type of drug. When McDonough allegedly asked his father for money, the father refused and an argument broke out between the two.At that point, the suspect allegedly threw a sandwich at the victim and chased him out of the house, yelling that if the police were called, he would assault his father. Scrambling to get into his car, the victim called the police and met them outside when they arrived.McDonough was arrested and booked without incident. A report was filed with the Elder Abuse Hotline and forwarded to the Greater Lynn Senior Services Agency (GLSS).
