LYNN – A half-naked, drunken Lynn man allegedly chased and beat two men with a cane on Friday at a rooming house on Light Street. The suspect, Richard Buono, 51, of 3 Light St., #25, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, cane, door, and four counts of threat to commit a crime. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon and posted $750 cash bail. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 20.According to court documents, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a rooming house on Light Street, around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, the 52-year-old victim told police that Buono, a resident of the house, was allegedly roaming around the building in a drunken and agitated state. He went on to say that he was frightened of Buono, so he tried to get away from him. But Buono, who was holding a cane, caught up with the victim and allegedly hit him on his right elbow. Police spoke with the building manager, a witness and another victim who said he too was allegedly chased by Buono and hit in the shoulder with a door several times.Police tracked Buono down in his room, where he challenged the officers to a fight as he took off his pants and underwear. After a brief struggle, Buono was arrested. As he was being led out of the building, he allegedly told two officers that when he is released, he was going to get his gun, find the officers’ homes and kill them.During his booking, Buono refused to answer questions and continued to threaten the officers and their families.
