SAUGUS – A motorist who drove away in a huff Monday as a town parking enforcement officer tried to write him a ticket for occupying a handicapped space will be sent a citation by mail.According to police, a resident telephoned to report a gray 2002 Mercury Marquis parked in a space reserved for handicapped drivers outside the TJ Maxx Home Goods store in the Square One Mall on Broadway.When the resident approa-ched the violator and asked him to move the car, the man allegedly cursed him and refused, according to police.With license plate number in hand, the resident gave the information to town authorities who dispatched a parking enforcement officer to the scene shortly before 12:20 p.m.. As the officer began writing the ticket, which is accompanied by a $300 fine, the driver of the Mercury – described as a white male in his 60s – sped off.Police said the motorist, John Marden, was mailed a citation for parking in a handicapped spot.
