PEABODY – A Stoughton man accused of robbing a Peabody bank on Monday was charged with the crime in federal court Wednesday.Mark LePage, 47, was charged with armed robbery in a criminal complaint,which alleges that on April 4, LePage robbed an Eastern Bank branch, located at 102 Lynn St., with a handgun.During the robbery, authorities allege, LePage grabbed a customer and held the gun to the back of his head while demanding that the customer hand over all of his money. He went on to allegedly point the gun at tellers in the bank while demanding money.After grabbing money from the tellers, LePage fled the building. He was arrested by authorities on Tuesday night.If convicted, LePage faces up to 25 years imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nadine Pellegrini of United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit.
