The high school baseball season has its first two no-hitters of the season.Mike Davis did the honors Sunday in a 13-0 win over Matignon. Davis struck out six and walked only one in his virtuoso performance.He got plenty of help from his teammates at the plate as well. Shortstop Dave Ruggiero led the way, going 5-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Chad Lessard was 3-for-5 with three RBI and scored twice while Alex Morsey was 2-for-4 with two RBY and two ruins scored.Davis himself added a hit, two RBI and scored twice for Fenwick.It was a successful weekend all around for the Crusaders as they also beat Winthrop, 5-4, on Saturday.Ruggiero was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Lessard and Mike LaChance each went 2-for-4.Marblehead 9, English 4At Fraser Field in Lynn, the Magicians (1-0) picked up an opening day win for the first time in five years as Dan Colbert struck out 11 and allowed only three hits on the hill.It was a close game until the top of the fifth when Marblehead scored seven times to bust the game open.Will Quigley was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Ryan Stanojev was 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.Edinson Purcel had a pair of hits for English.SOFTBALLFenwick 3, Wakefield 2At Peabody, Abby Curran’s single plated Jen Crovo with the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh at the Crusaders moved to 3-0 with a second straight walk-off win.Taylor Ahearn went the distance for Fenwick to get the win, striking out eight and scattering four hits. Cath. 11, St. Mary’s 2At Manning Field in Lynn, the Spartans (0-3) had 26 shots but couldn’t find the net except for a pair of tallies from Steve Poliskey.uThe Northeast Regional Golden Knights won its own tournament, which also included Lynn Tech, Pope John and Mystic Valley, thanks, in part, to the pitching of Saugus’ Jason Harper, who had a no-hitter and struck out 18 Saturday.Northeast got the victory over Pope John in that game, with Mystic Valley defeating Tech.In Sunday’s title game against Mystic Valley, Northeast prevailed, with Jake Crowley going five innings, with Melvin Fontonize and Harper finishing up.Andrew Hunnamen hit a two run homer giving the Knights the lead and victory.
